Hi, I’m Kate! I’m 27 years old and have been happily married the last three of those years to my wonderful husband, Michael. We share our little world with our two mischievous cats—Loki and Atticus—and our sweet dog, Rosie. Michael works full-time like me, but he’s always there to help bring my DIY visions to life, whether it’s building a garden bed, setting up a craft corner, or tackling a home project together. His support makes our small-scale, hands-on life even more fun and fulfilling.
In my downtime, I love getting lost in books, diving into creative projects, binge-watching TV shows, and playing video games with my husband. I’ve always been drawn to hands-on work and small projects that make life feel more intentional.
We’re lucky to have a half-acre of land that we’re slowly transforming into a space that’s meaningful, creative, and a little more sustainable. From planting a small vegetable garden and caring for our backyard wildlife, to exploring DIY projects and crafts, we’re learning how to live thoughtfully and make the most of what we have—one small project at a time.
Thread, Trowel & Thimble is where I share that journey: small-scale gardening, handmade crafts, DIY projects, and the experiments, successes, and lessons learned along the way. This blog is for anyone who loves creating, learning, and living a little more intentionally—because even small efforts can make life richer, more sustainable, and full of joy.
